My name is Laura and I m italian. I m studing for a Master in Intercultural Communication in Europe in Cambridge and I m writing an article about Intercultural projects in Art field...I guess your idea is the most appropriate one...I mean, what better than Arts can be considered a vehicle for intercultural dialogue???'
For this reason I m really motivated to explore your work and collect your opinions, and your experiences so I can prove that the interculturality in Europe is really possible, and most of all that Arts and Creativity are very efficent to break all the boundaries that our society stress in our dailylife.

"The theatrical working group has decided to talk of itself. Of its journey. Of nights spent in woods. Of fear and disorientation.
The structure of our performance will be simple, almost linear. As unwinding a mat of emotions. The dramaturgy is in progress, thanks to contributions by the young participants.

The group has also taken as a model and mean of communication Art, painting, poetry, photography, literature, transferring and mixing them with their life. They have decided to witness. Privileged witnesses. Protagonists of a long tale."

A journey, an immigration is also the story of the Ancient Mariner in Coleridge's work! Since the first time I've met, since the first time I've opened that book and read those words....I found an attraction, a pleasure. The story of a journey, of a challenge, through thousand of difficulties, with a return home. I'm sure that the Rime of the Ancient Mariner could be a perfect subject also for a theatrical work. And this blog the perfect mean to find out people able to do it. I don't know if someone already tried to work on this. Is there, so, any actor or director who'd like to test him/herself in this not easy work?? One ticket is already sold to me!

Usually, I start to work with a theatrical group taking inspiration from images, movies, paintings, music.
Concerning this very special group, I followed these memory tracks: the movie Brodway Denny Rose by W. Allen, remember the strange impresario who tries to recruit improbable artists. The title of a book by Antonio Tabucchi, A trunk full of people (the trunk will be the stage object of this show) and the Saint Sebastian martyrdom by Alessandro Botticelli, in which the adolescent saint's look is absolutely bold and he almost seems to challenge.

This morning, while we were working to create the theatrical performance, the young participants gave me new ideas and improvisations. Then, those who were acting, turned into audience, providing advices and opinions, grabbing their own theatrical idea with their fingers, as it was a delicate crystal. The contributions by the young participants are always great and of high level. "A generous souls confederation". Who are you? Which lightness moves you?

..a song can be a journey, its words and notes the mean to travel. A journey to escape, a journey to nowhere, a journey to overcome a hurdle, a journey to discover; as the journey itself has always been a research. A search for something that maybe each of us has near, very near but many times we look for it away and far! Sometimes music helps to travel so far standing in four walls. Sometimes this travel helps you to find the strenght you didn't think to have. Bye.
